Troubleshooting Sleep Recording Issues

Identify why a sleep period is missing, incomplete, or showing unexpected information.

Important: Complete the checks in the order provided. Missing sleep hours do not always indicate a synchronization issue.

1. Confirm Synchronization

Check the date and time of the latest synchronization in ReadiOne, ReadiSync, or ReadiSupervise.

  • If you do not see a recent synchronization, refer to Sync Troubleshooting.

  • If the synchronization was completed successfully, continue with the next check.

A successful synchronization confirms that the application received the information available on the device. However, it does not guarantee that the watch recorded enough data to identify sleep.

2. Confirm That the Device Is Paired

Verify that the ReadiWatch or ReadiBand is paired with the correct account.

If the device does not appear or cannot be paired, refer to Pairing Troubleshooting.

3. Identify the Type of Issue

The Actigraphy Shows Abnormal Values

If the graph shows unusually high or low activity, or continuous blocks that remain at the same value, refer to Fragmented Actigraphy Troubleshooting.

Sleep Appears Incomplete or Divided Due to Actigraphy

Unusual or frequent movement during a rest period may cause the system to record fewer sleep hours than expected or divide the sleep into multiple periods.

This can happen even if the user does not remember waking up. The ReadiWatch analyzes movement to distinguish sleep from wakefulness. Periods with elevated activity may therefore be interpreted as awake time or non-restorative sleep and may not be fully included in the sleep record.

This behavior can be normal and does not necessarily indicate a problem with the device. Review the actigraphy for the affected period to confirm whether frequent or continuous movement occurred.

The Session Is Pending Review

Some sessions may require additional processing or review before the final result appears, refer to Manual Review of Uploaded Sleep Data.

Sleep Was Recorded While the User Was Awake

Activities involving very little movement may be interpreted as sleep. Review what the person was doing during the recorded period.

There Is Invalid Data During the Sleep Period

Data is considered invalid when the ReadiWatch cannot confirm proper skin contact and no electrical pulse readings are recorded, refer to Invalid Data or Excessive Off-Wrist Time Troubleshooting.

The Sleep Total Decreased After Synchronization

In rare cases, the sleep total displayed initially may change after the system finishes processing the information.

During final processing, the algorithm reviews movement and sensor data to identify sleep and wake periods more accurately. As a result, some minutes may be reclassified, reducing the total recorded sleep.

This adjustment does not mean that data was lost or that synchronization failed. If the difference is significant or occurs frequently, contact Support to have the case reviewed.

4. Check the ReadiWatch Condition

If the device synchronized successfully and was used correctly, but the issue continues, refer to the following articles:

Warning: A factory reset deletes any information that has not yet been synchronized.
