Sometimes, sleep data uploaded by the device may require manual review due to factors such as excessive off-wrist time, unusually long sleep durations, or an excessive number of awakenings. Here’s how to identify when manual review is needed and the steps to take.

Step 1: Confirm Pairing and Syncing

  1. Check if the device has been paired.
If the device is not paired, please troubleshoot the pairing process.

  2. Check if the device has synced.
If the device has not synced, please troubleshoot the syncing process.

Step 2: Review Sync History

If the device has synced normally, you’ll need to check the sync history for the specific sync session in question.

Check the "Type" of the sync:

  • If the type is "Manual" or "Manager," it indicates that someone manually added the sleep session. This isn’t the session we’re looking for, and it can be investigated internally if needed.

  • If the type is "Automatic," the session came directly from the device through the syncing process. This is the session that requires your focus. Note that it might not be the very first item, so check subsequent items as well.

Examine between the "Uploaded at" and "Scored at" Columns:
Look for two blocks:

  • A JSON file block

  • A CSV file block

The CSV file contains data from the ReadiWatch, including sensor and actigraphy data. (CSV files appear only for "Automatic" sessions, not "Manual" ones.)

If the automatic session is missing the CSV file, it means the session is pending review. This typically happens when the data has inconsistencies and requires algorithmic assistance to determine the user's sleep.

Step 3: Check for Pending Sessions

Pending uploads can be found by clicking your name at the top right of the screen:

Note: You need to be in the same location as the user whose data you are reviewing. For example, if you supervise both Area1 locations 1 and 2, and the user is in location 2, you need to switch to location 2 before clicking your name. Pending uploads will be marked with a red pop-up button.

Once there, you’ll see two tabs:

  1. My Uploads: Sessions you manually entered.

  2. Location Uploads: Sessions awaiting supervisor approval, originating from user sync sessions.

In the "Location Uploads" tab, you’ll likely find the user you are auditing.

Find your user, open the session, and review the sleep data.

After reviewing the session, approve it and save your changes.

You will now see that the session information has updated, and the user’s sleep data is now correctly reflected.

Step 4: Contact Tech Support if Needed

If, after checking the automatic session, you still see the CSV data is present but no sessions have been uploaded, you can contact tech support. Please ensure to provide details on what you’ve already checked.
