If you’re experiencing issues with sleep data, it's essential to identify the root cause.

Common issues include "No Data/Excessive Off-Wrist" or "Insufficient Data."

Periods of invalidness are neither counted as sleep nor awake periods; instead, they interrupt the ReadiScore and restart it. These periods appear as pink bars in the data.

This invalidness is caused by the data captured by your ReadiWatch, often due to the sensors not accurately capturing information.

When you observe this invalidness, here are basic checks to confirm with the user before starting any troubleshooting with the ReadiWatch:

  1. Confirm Proper Wear:
Ensure the user is wearing the watch correctly. The device must be securely fastened to the wrist. A loose fit can prevent the sensors from detecting the wrist. Ask the user to adjust the fit accordingly—this is the most common issue.

  2. Avoid Obstructions:
Make sure the sensors are not blocked by clothing or other items, and that they are clean and free from scratches. For more details, refer to our article on checking the watch’s condition.

  3. Tattoos:
Avoid wearing the watch over tattoos, as this can interfere with sensor readings.

  4. Consistent Use:
The user should avoid frequently removing the device or not wearing it for extended periods.

After addressing these points, have the user wear the watch for a couple of days and then reanalyze the data.

  • If the data comes back clean, the issue was likely related to how the device was worn.

  • If the issue persists, there may be a problem with the device itself.

For further troubleshooting, refer to the following article:

If the sensor debugging shows valid values, there’s likely no issue with the sensors, and some user education on proper wear may be necessary. However, if the sensors show errors, contact support for further investigation. Do not contact support before this step. When contacting support, be sure to include the sensor debugging results.

Factory Reset (ReadiWatch Only):

As a last resort, a factory reset of the ReadiWatch might refresh the device settings. Only perform this reset if the device has already been synced, as it will erase stored data. For more information, refer to the following article:
